Richland County deputy accused of threatening men in park

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – A Richland County Sheriff’s deputy is arrested after an incident at Saluda Shoals Park. It was reported early last month. On May 2nd, two men say they were walking along the river when they noticed a small campfire that appeared to be unattended. After trying to call out several times, they say they went to put it out. It’s when they came across Michael Collum. The men claim Collum pulled out a gun, pointed it at them and threatened to kill them. Deputies also collected a statement from Collum. In it, he claimed he was afraid because the two men threatened to steal his property and rape his daughter. The case remains under investigation.
