Governor McMaster to speak at MADD rally at State House

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Governor Henry McMaster will speak at the Mothers Against Drunk Driving rally at the north steps of the State House this afternoon.

Governor McMaster will speak at noon to support the S 18 bill, which requires all DUI offenders to install an ignition interlock device on their vehicles.

According to MADD officials, the interlocks prevent a vehicle from starting if alcohol is detected on the driver’s breath.

Officials also say over 10,000 people die from drunk driving incidents in South Carolina each year.
