Thompson, Spearman Win Nominations in State Superintendent of Education Race

COLUMBIA. S.C. (WOLO) Tom Thompson has won the Democratic nomination for the State Superintendent of Education, while Molly Spearman has won the Republican nomination. With 44 of 46 counties reporting, Democratic candidate Tom Thompson has 60% of the vote, while his opponent, Sheila Gallagher, has 40%. On the Republican side, Molly Spearman has 57% of the vote and her opponent, Sally Atwater, has 43%. Thompson and Spearman will face off in November.
