Gervais Street Bridge and Meeting Street back open after river rescue call
WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – West Columbia Police say all emergency vehicles have been cleared from the Gervais Street Bridge and Meeting Street area after what was originally a river rescue call.
ABC Columbia was on the scene where officers told us they received a call of a boat overturning this morning.
However, police say they couldn’t find a boat near the Gervais Street Bridge.
Columbia Fire Department says they searched the Congaree River but found no one in distress.
