Columbia hosting weekend beach party

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The City of Columbia is bringing a bit of the beach to the state’s capital this weekend.

Columbia officials are hosting a Capital City Beach Party on Saturday at Finlay Park. For an evening, the park is being transformed into a beach party, complete with live music, a treasure hunt and fireworks.

The Episodes, formerly known as The Drifters, are scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. Fireworks start at 10 p.m.
