Library Closed, Courthouse Damaged by Rain

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO) — The Orangeburg County Library remains closed this afternoon after heavy rain fall in the area Monday. Fans lined the floors of the library Tuesday in hopes of drying saturated carpets. The county courthouse also has saturated carpets. During the height of Monday’s storm, several county roadways were washed out, dozens of cars were reported stranded and some drivers found themselves in need of rescue. No injuries were reported. Some places reported 10 inches of rain, others reported between 8-9 inches. The Orangeburg County Library is expected to remain closed Wednesday.
