Charleston Southern hosts ‘big brother’ Citadel
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Charleston Southern is finally getting big brother to come to its house.
Charleston Southern will host The Citadel on Saturday before what it expects to be a record crowd at Buccaneer Field. Charleston Southern coach Jamey Chadwell calls The Citadel his school’s big brother and says it shows his team’s progress that the Bulldogs are willing to come up the peninsula to play.
In Orangeburg, South Carolina State will host Furman In a rematch of last year’s Football Championship Subdivision playoff game won by the Paladins. This season, both teams are coming off disappointing losses.
In other games Saturday involving South Carolina’s FCS teams Wofford is at Gardner-Webb; Coastal Carolina travels to Florida A&M; and Presbyterian is at North Carolina State.
