Sheriff Says Cell Phone Video Not Whole Story

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Sheriff Lott says a recently released video doesn’t tell the whole story. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says his deputy used the minimal amount of force and acted within proper procedure when tasing a handcuffed suspect. Video surfaced last week of the deputy tasing the suspect, Mr. Lang, as investigators say he resisted arrest. Sheriff Lott says the deputy followed procedure….asked him to cooperate and walked him to the car. Mr. Lang physically resisted says Lott. after the deputy repeatedly asked for his cooperation. He says the deputy gave the suspect a choice and told him he had a taser. Sheriff Lott says you have to have all the facts, the deputy used proper force and this case is closed.
