Toddler shot after finding gun in SC home

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A 3-year-old girl is recovering from a gunshot wound after finding a gun in a South Carolina home.

Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said Sunday the girl found the loaded gun on Saturday and was shot in the leg. The bullet also grazed her hand. The toddler was in stable condition at a local hospital.

Timmons said the child does not live at the home where the shooting occurred. Timmons said police will consult with the solicitor’s office regarding possible charges.
