FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Howe Springs Fire Rescue rescued an elderly woman from her home during Thursday afternoon’s storms.

According to a post on its Facebook page, a large pine tree fell on the woman’s mobile home off the Pamplico Highway due to high winds from a storm cell.

The area was under a severe thunderstorm warning at the time, with an expanded risk for high winds.
