Astronauts capture picture of Russian volcanoe as it erupts

(CNN) – Astronauts were able to take a picture from space as a Russian volcano erupted.

The Raikoke Volcano erupted Saturday morning.

The image was taken from the international space station.

You can see a large plume of ash and volcanic gases shoot up from the crater.

According to NASA, the last time it exploded was in 1924.
