Richland deputies raise funds for Special Olympics
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Sheriff’s deputies in Richland County are working for tips, all to benefit Special Olympics athletes in South Carolina.
Sheriff Leon Lott says his deputies will be doing a Tip-A-Cop event at Red Robin restaurants in Columbia on Saturday.
During the lunch shift, deputies will be waiting tables for tips. All proceeds go toward supporting year-round sports training and competition for Special Olympics South Carolina.
Lott says there are more than 22,000 Special Olympics athletes in South Carolina.
