Principal: Camden cooperating with authorities

CAMDEN, S.C. (AP) — Camden High principal Dan Matthews says he will share video of post-game brawl between Dreher and Camden to law enforcement and the South Carolina High School League.

Matthews said in a statement Saturday that the fight broke out among some players as they lined up to shake hands after Camden’s 39-30 victory Friday night.

Matthews said coaches, officials and law officers intervened to stop the fight as quickly as they could. The principal said any person who took a swing with a fist or a helmet will be punished according to the rules of the league, the Kershaw County School District and, if need be, by law enforcement.

Matthews said Camden High was cooperating with authorities. Kershaw County School Superintendent Frank Morgan said Matthews sustained a cut in the fight.
