DEA agent shot in elbow during raid at SC home

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) – A federal drug agent has been shot in the arm as he helped a team of officers raid a home in Orangeburg County. Authorities said in court papers that 32-year-old Joel Robinson gave up shortly after the Sunday evening shooting at his home. He is charged with assault on a federal law enforcement officer. The FBI says Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Barry Wilson was shot in the elbow and the round removed at a Columbia hospital. The FBI says the officers were serving a warrant on Robinson because he has made PCP at the home about 10 miles south of Orangeburg for several years. The officers turned on their sirens as they approached the house and shouted “Police!” before Robinson fired. It wasn’t known if Robinson had a lawyer.
