Update: Murder suspect inmate who escaped from jail has been caught
Murder suspect escapes Sumter County jail; considered extremely dangerous
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) — A murder suspect who escaped from the the Sumter County Detention Center has been caught.
Authorities reported the arrest of Stephen Stinnette, 32, on Friday morning.
According to investigators, Stinnette was in custody for the murder of Jerry Johnson in April of 2018.
Johnson’s body was found in Lake Marion after having already been buried twice. 5 people were arrested in the case.
