Police say snacking bandit hits 3 Anderson stores
ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — Police are looking for a man who they say robbed three convenience stores in Anderson in five days, buying a snack or a soda before each robbery.
Investigators said the robbery spree began early Thursday morning when the man bought a snack, asked the clerk for change, then reached into the open cash drawer and grabbed money.
Police said two days later, the same man went into a different store, bought a soda, left and came back asking for change, grabbing money after the register opened.
Investigators said Sunday night, the man again bought a soda, then came back for change. The clerk quickly closed the register, so police say the man handed the employee a note saying if she gave him cash, he wouldn’t hurt her.
