Police: Witnesses say wanted suspect told victim “If I can’t have you no one will” before stabbing
ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – A 29-year-old man is wanted by the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety after they say he stabbed a victim multiple times on August 2.
Jasmine Lekendall Jones also known as Jay Walker is accused of stabbing the victim in the face, neck and body at a residence in the 200 block of Dutton Street.
Police say Jones was last seen driving a tan 2010 Chevy Impala with tinted windows with a Dallas Cowboy sticker in the rear driver’s side window.
According to an incident report, two residents who rent a room at the home say Jones and the victim were arguing about a broken cellphone before the situation escalated.
Jones, broke through the front door and said to the victim, “If I can’t have you no one will,” the incident report states.
The suspect and the victim left the residence separately, but police say according to the witnesses the victim returned suffering from multiple knife related injuries.
Investigators say a pool of blood was found on a sidewalk in the 800 block of Peasley Street.
According to an arrest warrant Jones is wanted for attempted murder.
