Clemson, S.C. — Nearly one month after suffering a broken right finger in Clemson’s 23-17 victory over Louisville on Oct. 11, freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson will suit up for the Tigers this Thursday but is unlikely to start. “He’ll be dressed and ready to go,” Head Coach Dabo Swinney said Tuesday. “May be the most watched pre-game in college football.” In Watson’s two games as a starter, the Tigers averaged 45 points per game on offense. Since his departure, Clemson is averaging about 19 points per game. “We’ll be glad when he’s back out there,” added Swinney. Watson, if fully healthy, will start Nov. 15 against Georgia Tech, arguably the most challenging opponent left on Clemson’s regular season schedule. That gives the quarterback 11 days to prepare for the Yellow Jackets, and so far, practices have been pain-free. “I saw him (Watson) really cut it loose last week, and the only thing he was hindered by was the contraption they had on his hand,” Swinney said. “But no pain at all. He looks good. He looks really good.” The Tigers face the Demon Deacons this Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
