2 Arrested in Shooting Death of Chester Councilman
CHESTER, S.C. (AP) _ Two men have been arrested and two others are being sought in the shooting death of a Chester city councilman. Area media sources report Chester County Sheriff Alex Underwood said Friday that 18-year-old Christopher Moore is charged with murder and 25-year-old Quinton McClinton is charged with accessory to murder. An arrest warrant identifies Moore as the man who shot City Councilman Odell Williams on Nov. 4. Underwood said all four suspects are members of a gang which has been making threats against his office. He said he has assigned more deputies to step up patrols while tension is high between gangs and the sheriff’s office. The sheriff said Williams was shot with an assault rifle, and that investigators determined that between 15 and 20 bullets were fired at the councilman.
