Davis Weighing NFL Options

Columbia, S.C. — Gamecocks Running Back Mike Davis did not say one way or another whether he will declare for the NFL after this season with South Carolina. “It’s possible I’ve made up my mind,” Davis said Wednesday. Davis plans to submit paperwork to the NFL College Advisory Committee to receive a more in-depth evaluation from NFL scouts. “It depends where they have me on the board, where I’m listed, what scouts think, and am I a first round or second round grade,” Davis said. “Things like that factor in.” Davis also admits his decision could be impacted by his good friend and Georgia Running Back Todd Gurley, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear this season. Gurley emerged as one of the top NFL tailback prospects in the nation before the injury. So far this season, Davis has rushed the ball for 875 yards and nine touchdowns.
