Man found shot to death in Union apartment

UNION, S.C. (AP) — Police in Union are investigating the death of a man found shot to death in an apartment.

Police were called to the apartment shortly after noon on Thanksgiving Day. Union County Coroner William Holcombe told local media outlets that the victim was 53-year-old Carl Lee Palmer.

Public Safety Director Sam White said that Palmer was found by a concerned neighbor. Investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting.

White said the State Law Enforcement Division is assisting with the investigation.

No arrests have been made.

An autopsy was planned Friday in Newberry.
