Tigers name Streeter Clemson quarterbacks coach

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — No. 18 Clemson has hired former quarterback Brandon Streeter to take over as quarterbacks coach, a role held by ex-offensive coordinator Chad Morris.

Tigers coach Dabo Swinney announced the addition Wednesday. Streeter has served as Richmond’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach the past three years.

Streeter will also be recruiting coordinator, a position held by Jeff Scott who was promoted to co-offensive coordinator with Tony Elliott last week.

Streeter played quarterback at Clemson from 1996-99, starting his final two seasons. He threw for 3,506 yards and 17 touchdowns in his career.

Streeter was a Tigers graduate assistant coach in 2004 and 2005 when Swinney was receivers coach.

Morris left to become SMU head coach earlier this month.

Clemson (9-3) will face Oklahoma (8-4) in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
