Sumter Civil Air Patrol puts wreaths on vet graves

SUMTER, S.C. (AP) — The Sumter squadron of the Civil Air Patrol is holding a ceremony to help honor veterans who have passed away by placing holiday wreaths at cemeteries across the country.

The Sumter Item reports (http://bit.ly/1wgcXpd ) that the ceremony at the Sumter Cemetery is being held at noon on Saturday.

The public is being invited to attend, as well as active duty and retired military members and their families.

The former flotilla commander of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Perry Moses III, is speaking at the ceremony.

After the brief ceremony, attendees are welcome to help hang the wreaths.
