Help a Midlands child in need with the Angel Tree Program
You’re running out of time to be an angel to a Midlands child in need.
The Angel Tree program is underway! Angel Tree provides Christmas assistance to families in need in the Midlands area. Through The Salvation Army Angel Tree program, donors can give joy to a child in need during the holiday season. Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. Through Angel Tree, thousands of local children will find gifts waiting under their Christmas trees.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program provides new clothing and toys for children of families in need through the support of donors like you. Found in local malls, companies, and churches, Angel Trees are decorated with numbered paper angel tags with the first name, age, and gender of a child in need of gifts. Contributors remove one or more tags from the tree and purchase appropriate gifts for the child or children described on the tags.
Once a child has been registered as an “Angel,” The Salvation Army makes a promise to provide Christmas for that child. This promise includes a variety of gifts for each child. In order to accomplish this, The Salvation Army depends on the generosity of individual donors, corporations and organizations. Last year, hundreds of companies, organizations and individuals helped fulfill the gift requests from local children who would otherwise have not had gifts at Christmas.
This year there are more ways to help and donate than ever! Check out the ways to help bring Christmas to a SC child in need below!
During the months of November and December, trees are placed in Columbia area shopping centers and businesses bearing the names of children (and virtually online)! These children would not have Christmas without the help of the community. Shoppers are encouraged to pick a name from the tree, purchase an item and return the gift unwrapped.
