Texas Tech coasts past South Carolina State 101-39

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Justin Gray scored 18 points to lead Texas Tech to a 101-39 win Wednesday night against South Carolina State in the opening round of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic.
The Red Raiders led by at least 40 points for the final 13:32 and by at least 50 points for the final 7:45. They shot 22 of 36 (61.1 percent) in the first half en route to building a 53-23 halftime lead.
The 53 points were the most first-half points they’ve scored this season, edging their 42 against Missouri State. The 23 points were the fewest first-half points allowed this season, bettering the 24 given up against Auburn and LSU.
Robert Turner (14 points), Devaugntah Williams (13) and Isaiah Manderson (11) all reached double-digit scoring for the Red Raiders (8-1).
Tashombe Riley scored a team-high eight points for the Bulldogs (3-8).
