Driver strikes, kills pedestrian in business parking lot

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – A deadly accident outside a business in Orangeburg remains under investigation. State troopers say the man behind the wheel of a Lincoln was driving along US Highway 601 Thursday when he crossed into the other lane and ended up in the parking lot of “Select the Tire.” He hit a sign, three parked cars and a pedestrian. The pedestrian died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the car and his passenger were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions aren’t known.
