Suspect accused of shooting at police facing federal charge

Orangeburg, S.C. (WOLO)–A man accused of shooting at police is now facing a federal firearms charge.
Thursday the US Attorney’s Office announced Phillip King is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Investigators say in September of 2018 King shot at police while he was being pursued in connection with a stolen car.
He is also facing three charges of attempted murder in connection with the incident.
