CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina judge has revoked the probation of a man accused of killing a South Carolina couple last year. The judge ruled yesterday that Malcolm Hartley had violated the terms of his probation for a 2013 Charlotte restaurant robbery. Hartley is one of two suspects in the October shooting deaths of Doug and Debbie London at their home in Lake Wylie, South Carolina.
WALTERBORO, S.C. (AP) — A substitute teacher in Colleton County has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after videos given to sheriff’s deputies showed students running wild. Sheriff’s deputies say 37-year-old Nicole Perritte of Walterboro was arrested last week after school officials brought in video showing Perritte dancing with male students in a provocative manner.
GREAT FALLS, S.C. (AP) — A Chester County man has been arrested and accused of stomping a dog to death. Great Falls police say 27-year-old Cory Allen Smith is accused of illegal treatment of animals.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The state Revenue Department is mailing some income tax refund checks this year rather than using direct deposit in an attempt to cut down on fraud. Agency officials say they are sending paper refund checks in some cases because of an increase in fraud nationally.
