Columbia , S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County deputies are searching for a suspect connected to a bank robbery on Two Notch Road Wednesday morning. Deputies said shortly after 10 am Wednesday, a male walked into First Community Bank on Two Notch Road and presented a note to the teller demanding money. According to deputies, the male stated he had a handgun but never showed the weapon. Sgt. Kevin Lawrence said the teller complied with the demands and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money. “It appears at this time, he left on foot in the direction of the wood line directly behind the bank,” said Sgt. Lawrence. Sgt. Lawrence describes the suspect as a white-male, approximately 5’5″ with a salt and pepper beard and wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jean shorts. Sgt. Lawrence said no one was harmed in the incident. “Of course it’s great that no one got injured, no one got hurt and we need the communities assistance in solving these crimes because we hate that things like this happen,” said Sgt. Lawrence. The incident is the second robbery on Two Notch Road this week. On Tuesday, a Wells Fargo branch bank was robbed by a male demanding money. Deputies said the two incidents are not related. “It appears at this time both incidents are completely isolated and not related but we currently have investigators assigned to both cases and we’re currently working them,” said Sgt. Lawrence. Deputies are asking anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
