SC woman gets 12 years in stabbing death

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — A Galivants Ferry has been sentenced to 12 years in prison in the stabbing death of a man on Christmas Eve back in 2013.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports (http://bit.ly/1yi5DbG ) that 56-year-old Connie Louise Highsmith pleaded guilty in Horry County on Thursday to voluntary manslaughter in the death of 52-year-old Herbert Lee Robinson.

Highsmith entered the plea as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors who dismissed a murder charge

Witnesses said the stabbing occurred following an argument between Highsmith and Robinson.
