USC Fans Ready for Final Four

Columbia , S.C. (WOLO) — While the Lady Gamecocks get ready to make their first Final Four appearance in Tampa, here in Columbia, fans are stocking up on their garnet and black. “People want to wear what the team is wearing, they want to show their support and that’s really what we’re all about, we’re just big fans here too,” said Garnet and Black Traditions Store Manager, Leland Morrison. Morrison said their sales are up 50 percent for their entire basketball line. “With the final four we’ve seen an even greater boom,” said Morrison. “We’ve already had such a successful year with the whole line but with the final four shirts themselves, we’ve ordered and ordered and ordered.” Morrison said they haven’t been about to keep the shelves stocked with final four shirts and some sold out in about an hour and a half. “I think of course, when you have such a great team and an involved team, that really helps get the fans excited to come out and buy,” said Morrison. While some fans buy Gamecock gear to show their support for the Lady Gamecocks, Wild Wings Cafe is getting ready to host dozens of fans who didn’t make the trip to Florida. Spokesperson, Alex Inavinet said at previous viewing parties for the Lady Gamecocks, they had a larger turn-out than they expected. “It was crazy last time, everyone was jumping around, we had game towels and t-shirts that we were handing out so it’s gonna be a good time,” said Inavinet. Now that the team is in the Final Four, Inavinet said he expects this Sunday they will see an even larger crowd than in the past, with many people coming by to root for their hometown team. The game starts at 6:30 pm Sunday, April 5.
