Video: Lexington Sheriff Updates Officer Involved Shooting

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Lexington County Sheriff Lewis McCarty says two deputies were involved in a shooting at 2:30 Tuesday morning at a home near White Falls Dr. in Irmo. McCarty says the deputies were called to the home to secure the scene for Lexington Co. Emergency Medical Personnel who were there to check on the well-being of 59 year old Kimber Key who was in town visiting his brother. At the time of the shooting, investigators say Key was armed with a knife. McCarty says Key was shot in the upper torso and was taken to Palmetto Health Richland. According to the sheriff all of the parties involved in the incident are white. The incident is being investigated by SLED.
