Clean Slate Offered at Expungement Workshop

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO) — An expungement assistance workshop is going on Thursday at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. Representatives from City Municipal Court and the Magistrate Office will be on hand from 9:00 to noon and then again from 1:30 to 3:30 in the afternoon. Expungement is the court ordered process where a person’s legal record of an arrest or conviction is erased from your criminal background. Topics at the event include what can be expunged, who qualifies for an expungement, how expungement assists job search and who qualifies for a pardon. The workshop is free. Be sure to bring your driver’s license, SC I.D. or Social Security card.
