Calling All Hunters

(WOLO) AIKEN, S.C., — Registration is now open for people hoping to participate in a series of deer hunts this fall at the Savannah River Site. Participants are selected by a lottery system, and officials say they expect more than 1,300 hunters to take part. There is also a separate hunt for wounded warriors and disabled hunters in October. The Savannah River Site is a 310-square mile complex near Aiken. Nuclear weapons components were once made there, but now most of the activity at the site is focused on cleanup. If you would like to participate in the series of hunts that begins November 1st , you will have to register online at : http://www.srs.gov/general/deer_hunt/hunt.htm . (Source: Associated Press)
