Benedict’s Lewis Signs With British Team
PLYMOUTH, England (BC SID) — Former Benedict College men’s basketball standout Bennie Lewis has signed with the Plymouth Raiders, who compete in the top-tier British Basketball League.
Lewis, a 6-foot-8 forward, has professional experience in the NBA D-League with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, as well as with the Melbourne Tigers in Melbourne, Australia, where he was the 2012 NBL slam-dunk contest champion.
“Bennie gives us real height and with his versatility, he gives us lots of options. Having had experience in both the Australian NBL and the NBA D-League, we have someone who understands the pro game and what is expected of him,” said Raiders Head Coach Jay Marriott.
