Department of Public Safety Reminds Drivers to Buckle Up

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO) — Officials with the Department of Public Safety are reaching out to drivers later today. Their message is, “Buckle up South Carolina. It’s the law and it’s enforced.” It’s a kick-off to the campaign. The agency will also announce the “Click’n for Chicken” Education and Enforcement Campaign at Chick-fil-A in Lexington during a news conference on Wednesday at 11:00. The campaign comes after another deadly weekend on South Carolina’s Roads. The Department of Public Safety reports nine people died between Friday at Sunday. It brings the total deaths on our highways, so far this year, to 306. That’s about three dozen more deaths than this time, last year.
