Protesters in Charleston, Columbia joining

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Protesters from Charleston are coming to Columbia to join fellow protesters complaining about the nation’s political and economic systems.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports (http://bit.ly/n1TaiM ) that Occupy Charleston participants voted Saturday morning to travel to the Statehouse to meet with Occupy Columbia protesters Sunday evening.
The groups hope to create a larger “Occupy South Carolina” group protesting state issues.
They are part of a movement that began on Wall Street in New York City more than a month ago. Protesters are complaining about a host of issues, including the federal bailout of banks and corporate influence on U.S. politics.
The protest on Statehouse grounds began last weekend. The protest in Charleston’s Brittlebank Park began Wednesday.
