Police: Man charged with attempted murder of girlfriend
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — An Orangeburg man has been charged with attempted murder after authorities say he used a stun gun on his girlfriend and then fired a handgun at her.
The Times & Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/1QFrsjk ) 20-year-old Quinnis A. Gibbs was arrested and charged Monday, hours after police say Gibbs fired a stun gun in Tyquasha Hart’s face and then shot at her with a handgun.
A police report says the couple had been arguing the night before and that the argument escalated the next morning.
Officials say prior to Gibbs’ bond setting, Hart defended him, pleading with the judge to be lenient with her boyfriend. Police say Hart was not injured or struck during the incident.
Gibbs’ bond has been set at $75,000. It was not immediately known if Gibbs has hired an attorney.
