Tax free weekend August 7-9

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — It’s almost time to get ready to do some serious back-to-school-shopping. The Department of Revenue announced this year’s tax-free weekend will take place August 7 through August 9. Sales tax will not be imposed on items such as clothing, shoes, school supplies, bookbags, computers, printers, bedspreads and linens. Nonexempt items include the sale of jewelry, cosmetics, eyewear, furniture, or items placed on layaway.
