National Night Out Kick-Off

August 4th is National Night Out, an event designed to bring law enforcement and the communities they serve closer together. Thursday night the City of Columbia hosted a kick-off party for this year’s event. Next Tuesday communities across the nation will be taking part in National Night Out, but Thursday was all about getting excited for the next week’s festivities. ABC Columbia spoke with Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook and asked him give a little background on the National Night Out and tell us what we could expect to see when the night rolls around. We also asked Chief Holbrook if this year’s National Night Out was more important in light of recent events and the divide between law enforcement in the community Locations in Richland and Lexington Counties that will hold National Night Out events include: -Region 1 Substation: 2615 Lower Richland Blvd. -Windsor Lake Elementary: 9800 Dunbarton Dr. -Myrtle Park: 305 Ridge Trail Dr. -Greenview Park: 6700 David St. -Denny Terrace Community Center: 6429 Bishop Ave. -Columbia High School: 1701 Westchester Dr. – Gibson Pond Park: 241 Gibson Rd.
