Coroner IDs man killed at Lexington County mobile home park

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Authorities have identified a man who was shot to death at a mobile home park in Lexington County.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher tells local media outlets that 45-year-old Hector Vasquez of West Columbia suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest on Sunday night.

Sheriff’s investigators say two men driving a sedan came up to Vasquez and his teenage son and opened fire.

Vasquez later died at a hospital. His son was treated for minor injuries and released.

Sheriff’s spokesman Adam Myrick says a robbery had taken place earlier Sunday at the same mobile home park.

Authorities are still investigating.
