Authorities investigate shooting death of man in Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a Columbia man as a homicide.

Police tell local media outlets that officers found 55-year-old Michael Brown dead in the road just after midnight on Friday.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says Brown had been shot to death.

No arrests have been made, and anyone with information is encouraged to call police.
