Man charged with sexually assaulting young girl

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) — A Rembert man has been charged with second degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 16. 34 year-old Demetrius Antonio Nelson was arrested Friday after he allegedly fondled a minor on five occasions at a residence in Rembert. Officials say the 15 year-old minor reported that her siblings were in another room when the last incident occurred. Nelson is being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center.
