Rembert man charged with criminal sexual conduct with minor

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) — The Sumter County Sheriff‘s Office charged a Rembert man with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor Monday after receiving reports he had sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl over the weekend. 25-year-old Walter David Richbow turned himself in to investigators Monday morning after being contacted by law enforcement. According to reports, the suspect is accused of sexually assaulting the victim in the back of his car on Aug. 22, shortly after midnight, in a wooded area in northern Sumter County. The assault, according to investigators, occurred after the suspect had taken the victim to an area fast food restaurant.
