Regulating Number of Household Pets?
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County residents may soon have to limit the number of pets in their home to three, if changes are made to the county’s animal care ordinance. At an animal advisory committee meeting Tuesday, county leaders discussed proposed changes to the county’s existing animal care ordinance. The current ordinance has no pet limit. However, if changes are made, residents would be permitted to have up to three animals at their home. Tuesday’s meeting resulted two versions of the ordinace–one with a pet limit and one without–heading to a subcommittee meeting in December. In January or February, a public hearing will take place in county council chambers before council members make a final decision.
