Possible tornado damages homes near Rock Hill
ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say an apparent tornado has touched down about five miles southwest of Rock Hill, damaging several homes.
York County Emergency Management spokeswoman Leslie Brakefield said the storm knocked down trees and damaged the property around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Brakefield says searchers are currently looking in the area for any victims, but no deaths or injuries have been reported.
The National Weather Service says the storm also may have dropped tornadoes as it moved across Laurens and Union counties, but no major damage has been reported in those areas.
