Fort Dorchester getting $300,000 video board
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — When Fort Dorchester High School plays football they may not always have the highest score, but now they will have the biggest video scoreboard.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported (http://bit.ly/spakTB) that the North Charleston school is getting a new $300,000 scoreboard that will have the largest video screen of any high school in the state.
The school’s stadium seats 7,000 people. The scoreboard will have a 14-by-25 foot video screen and will broadcast live footage and video replays.
The City of North Charleston loaned the school’s booster club the money for the board which will be paid back over six years. The booster club already has 10 of the 12 main sponsors who will help pay for the board.
