COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Twenty-one days after a suspicious package is discovered at Eau Claire High School in Columbia, authorities are called to the school again to address a second suspicious package. Columbia Police, Columbia-Richland Fire, SLED and the FBI are investigating a package discovered by the custodial staff at the school shortly before 6:00 am Monday. After initially delaying the start of class for two hours, district officials canceled classes altogether. A suspicious package was discovered by a custodian last month, October 31. Authorities are not saying whether the two cases are related or revealing the contents of either package. All schools in South Carolina have three make-up days built into their 180-day calendar, for inclement weather. School officials must now determine how and when Eau Claire will have two make-up days. No injuries were reported.
