Thousands Flock Downtown for Parade
Downtown Columbia turned to a sea of Garnet and Black Friday afternoon as tens of thousands of fans turned out for the Gamecock Baseball National Championship Victory Parade. The City of Columbia estimates that 40,000 people attended the parade. The festivities culminated with Mayor Steve Benjamin presenting the team with the key to the city and proclaiming July 2nd, 2010 as Ray Tanner Day.
