COVID-19 testing is down across the country, raising concerns from some experts

CNN– Some health experts are concerned about a decline in COVID-19 testing across the country. The COVID Tracking Project shows test rates have dipped by a quarter since mid-January.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says those tests are critical to controlling the pandemic, even as vaccinations are getting underway. The agency points to case numbers that are plateauing and COVID variants that are spreading. The CDC also reports that 540,000-564,000 people could die from the virus by March 27.
